As the capital city of Jaipur was developing and expanding year after year, Bishop Ignatius Menezes purchased 19, 342. 88 sqr. yards of land from Jaipur Development Authority on June 29th, 1985. However due to some land dispute and stay order, construction work could not be started. The school was opened in July 1986 in a rented building by Fr. Raymond Coelho. On 29th April 1988 the new school building was blessed and inaugurated. The Congregation of Mother Carmel (C.M.C) Sisters, who were invited to open a Convent in order to help in the school as well as in the parish, arrived in June 1988. The Parish of Our Lady of the Annunciation in Malviya Nagar was officially erected in the year 1989. The new Church was blessed by Most Rev. Ignatius Menezes, the Bishop of Ajmer- Jaipur diocese in 1998.

With the creation of the new Diocese in 2005, this Church was chosen by Most Rev. Oswald Lewis as his Cathedral. Thus now it is known as the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Annunciation.

Franciscan Sisters of St. Mary of the Angels (FSMA) established their Provincialate and started St. Mary's School and St. Mary’s Ashram at Jagatpura.

The Catholic Church must acknowledge the generosity of the State- the gift of the ground and the generous contribution to the Sacred Hearts Church at Ghat Gate. The State PWD helped in the preparation and construction of this Church. Sacred Hearts church was built in 1871. But there was no permanent Chaplin until 1883. It appears that there was another chapel before the present one which got burnt with all the records. The first resident priest was Fr. Conarad OFM. Cap in 1883. Archduke Franz Ferdinand, prince and heir to the throne of Austria, attended the Holy Mass on Sunday, 5th January, 1893 and offered a generous donation of Rs. 200 to the Church. St Angela Sophia School was opened by the Mission Sisters of Ajmer in 1926 with an orphanage in the existing old minor seminary building.

The Parish progressed slowly under a succession of Parish Priests. Fr. Ignace, a zealous pastor tried everything to inject new life into what he found was apparently a dying Parish. But Fr. Ignace’s main contribution to the Parish was to start a little school- St Mary’s School in 1929. This school was handed over to the Jesuits of Patna Province in 1942. There is also a cemetery coming down from the Capuchin Fathers time that is located in the same campus.

When the new Catholic Diocese of Jaipur was created on 28th August 2005, Bishop Oswald Lewis resided at Bishop’s house built by most Rev Leo D’ Mello in 1964. As this residence was too small, a new Bishop’s House was constructed and blessed on May 10th, 2014.

The State Government of Rajasthan got the Sacred Hearts Church renovated in 2013. On this occasion the Diocese got the interior painting on ceiling and walls done. The rededication of the Church and consecration of the new Altar was done on Sunday November 17, 2013.

In November 1942, Sir Mirza Ismail, Prime Minister of Jaipur State had gone to Patna to deliver his address at Patna University. He visited St Xavier’s Patna, run by the American Jesuits. He invited them to start a school in Jaipur. After negotiations with Bishop Guido of Ajmer, they came in 1943 and took charge of St Mary’s school. Meanwhile the government had granted 12 acres of land; the Jesuits purchased five more on Bhagwandas Road. St Mary’s school was shifted to the present site, where it was named St Xavier’s School. A magnificent new building was constructed in 1950.

On 3rd December 1979 Bishop Ignatius Menezes created a new Parish and named after St. Xavier. The Parish is taken care by the Jesuits Fathers. Fr. Augustine Pudikamala SJ was the first Parish Priest. In 1984 in the presence of Blessed Mother Teresa the new building on Wardhaman Path was blessed for the Sisters of Missionaries of Charity. Sisters of Charity of Jesus and Mary (SCJM) opened their Convent in Jaipur to help in the School and as well as in the Parish in 1986. In 2010 St Xavier’s College, Jaipur, was opened and was affiliated to the University of Rajasthan.

The Catholic Diocese of Ajmer- Jaipur purchased the land for a Church and a school in 1989. Fr. Raymond Coelho did the initial work of the school. Fr. The Diocese of Ajmer- Jaipur established this mission station in the year 2000. Fr. Raymond Coelho was the first Parish Priest and Principal. The Congregation of Mother of Carmel (C.M.C) Sisters of Kanjirappally Province bought 13 bigas of land in the year 2005 at Bagrana in order to open a school. The Sisters began the school in a rented building in 2007. Fr. Casimiro Coelho was appointed the first Chaplin to the parish. Since the diocese did not have land there to establish a presbytery and the church, the Jaipur Diocese purchased two bigas of land from the CMC Sisters. The parish house was built in the year 2010 and the Parish Priest began to reside in the campus. The magnificent edifice of the church was blessed and consecrated on Sunday October 4, 2015 by Bp. In view of starting a mission station in Dausa City, a plot of land was purchased by Ajmer-Jaipur diocese from Dausa Development Authority in 1995 for a school. In 1998 Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Graces (FSLG) were invited by the Bishop of Ajmer-Jaipur diocese to begin a school. Initially the school was conducted in a rented building where Sisters also resided. In 1999 the school was shifted to a newly built school building. Until 2007 the station was visited by priests from Bandikui and Jaipur for the spiritual needs of the sisters and the faithful. Fr. Casimiro Coelho was the first resident priest at Dausa in the year 2007, who stayed in a rented house. The diocese then constructed Diocesan Social Work Centre Jeevandhara Samaj Kalyan Sanstha cum Parish Priest residence in the other part of the land. Ever since there has been a resident priest to take care of the Parish and the Social Work. Now Fr. Maria Lawrence is the Priest-in-Charge cum Director of social work from the year 2011.

St. Peter’s Church was built in 1921 on the land leased by the Railway Department. Fr. Oliver O.F.M.Cap, was the first Priest-in-charge. The Catholic presence in Phulera is recorded from 1892. Since it was a place of importance to the Railways there was a well established Railway-colony and many Christians working in the Railways were both foreigners and Indian employees. A Church was built here in the land given by the Railways and Fathers from Ajmer visited the place to look after the spiritual needs of the people. After the creation of Jaipur Diocese, the Church and Priests residence, which were in bad state, were renovated and a residential Priest was appointed. In the year 2007 the Diocese of Jaipur bought land here for the purpose of opening an educational institution. In 2008 a new school was opened dedicated to St. Anselm. Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny (SJC) were invited to help out in the Parish and school in 2008. Sr. Pushpa SJC was the first Principal, while Fr. Melwyn Saldanha was the Parish Priest and Manager.

The few Catholic families of Sawai Madhopur were formerly served by the fathers from Gangapur City and from Jaipur. In the year 2000 the stations, Gangapur City and Sawai Madhopur were handed over to the MSFS Fathers. They took care of the station until 2009 and then the demand of the small community of believers here for a full time resident priest was realized when a school was started in a rented building in 2009 by the Diocese of Jaipur. The Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Graces (FSLG) were invited to help in the school as well as in the parish in 2009. The school began in a rented building, where Sisters also resided. The Parish Priest resided in another rented building. In April 2010 land was purchased, school building was constructed, blessed and inaugurated on 9th April, 2012 by Bishop Oswald Lewis. Thus the school was shifted to the new building under the able leadership of Fr. Arasarethinam.

The Fransalians (Missionaries of St. Francis De Sales) of Pune Province established their first community in Ganganpur city in 2000. The Province with a vision to expand their ministry purchased land in Kachroli, Hindaun city which is about 50 kms away from Ganganpur City in 2011. Fr. Alphonse and Fr. Britto formed the first community of Fransalians and started the school with the collaboration of the Sisters of The Visitation, Alleppy in July 2012. The School named after St. Francis De Sales began in a rented building. Most. Rev. Oswald Lewis blessed the school and the convent on 26th July 2012. In July 2014 the school was shifted from rented building to a newly constructed temporary building.

The diocese of Ajmer-Jaipur had purchased land in the year 2003, on Phaghi Road, Madarampura, Sanganer to begin a new mission station. Morning Star St Anslem’s School at Pratap Nagar was opened in a rented building on 15 April 2009. Rev. Fr. Joseph Anickatt was the principal of the school. The Provincial Superior of the Congregation of St Joseph of Cluny, Calcutta was requested to help in the school as well as in the parish work. Sr. Georgina as the superior and two Sisters came from Calcutta to collaborate in education ministry. On 7th April 2011 the new school building was blessed and the school was shifted from the rented building to the newly constructed school building. The Sister’s convent was built and blessed on 1st July 2014. The presbytery was blessed on March 28th 2015.

The journey of Mahua Mission began on August 30, 2011 from Jaipur by Fr.Jebamalai Sagaya Raj, S J. He offered the first mass in the existing residence at Mahua on August 31, and blessed the house and the field. He resided in the campus for almost one year and cleared some of the works pending in connection with the land. The Foundation Stone for St.Xavier’s School-Mahua was blessed by Most Rev Oswald. J. Lewis, Bishop of Jaipur and Rev Fr Varkey Perekkatt, S J, Provincial of Delhi Jesuit Province and Fr Jebamalai, S J laid it on September 12, 2012. The Congregation of Franciscan Sisters of Saint Mary of the Angels (FSMA) Sr Sheena and Sr Pratima joined as collaborators on June 28th, 2013 and they stayed in a rented house in Mahua. St Xavier’s School-Mahua was opened on July 1, 2013 in a shed with 101 students. Fr Glenn, S J inaugurated it and Fr Jebamalai, S J blessed it in the presence of religious men and women, guests, villagers, parents and students. On 27th September 2014 the FSMA sisters moved into the school campus. Fr Packiam,S J joined Mahua Mission on 27th March 2014. On 2 April 2014 the ground floor of the school building was blessed by Fr Jebamalai, S J in the presence of staff and students.
